wwwpic5678 Generally, a Merseyside derby is a marquee event in the Premier League calendar, at least for the fans of the two teams. But this season, from Liverpool’s perspective it feels more like an ill-timed intermission in an engrossing film that the Champions League quarter finals promise to be. From Everton’s point of view, the season is more or less over, as even the bragging rights of finishing above the Reds are beyond their reach. But, that does not mean that either side will simply go through the motions on Saturday, when they meet at lunchtime. Winning the derby is always important and we can expect both the sides to try and do exactly that.

Everton are ninth placed with 40 points and six games to play. They certainly cannot catch Liverpool, who are third with 66 points, even if they win every single game and the Reds lose all of theirs. But, Sam Allardyce loves a challenge against the Big Six and has had some memorable games against Liverpool when he has frustrated the Reds. At 0.86 points per game against Liverpool, his record does not inspire awe but does indicate that a draw might not be a very far fetched result. Everton’s results in March were a mixed bag with wins against Stoke and Brighton being bookended by losses against Burnley and Manchester City. There is almost no chance of the Toffees getting relegated but a point against their arch-rivals will boost Everton’s confidence and also take them further towards safety. wwwpic5678

Liverpool’s fixture list is nowhere as kind this season as it was last season at this stage or even as it looked just last month. Five games in 15 days are generally tough for a team, but when it is at the fag-end of the season and that too when three of those five games comprise of two quarter-finals against the best side in the country and a derby against your arch-rivals, the kind of exertion felt by the players is at a completely different level. Jurgen Klopp has repeatedly expressed his displeasure at the scheduling as he knows that his side runs the danger of serious injuries, which Liverpool simply cannot afford. Of course, the Reds come into this derby in the highest of spirits. They were outstanding on Wednesday night as they outplayed Manchester City in every department. But that performance also took a toll on the players. Klopp will be hoping that this derby is the only game that Salah will have to miss. The German will also look to rotate his side as much as possible to keep them fresh for the second leg of the quarterfinals. wwwpic5678

MessagePosté le: Ven 20 Avr - 11:31 (2018)    Sujet du message: Paul Hanlon signs new four-year deal with Hibernian until 20 Répondre en citant

maxbet Paul Hanlon has signed a new four-year deal with Hibernian until the summer of 2022. The 28-year-old defender is celebrating his testimonial season and has scored 20 goals in 340 appearances for Hibs in a 10-year spell. Hibernian boss Neil Lennon says it was an easy decision to hand Hanlon a new deal after watching his impressive displays this term.

"I'm delighted as he deserves it," said Lennon.
"He's been tremendously consistent for me over the last two years and tremendously consistent over the last 10 years. "He's getting better. At 28, he's coming into his peak years so it's a great bit of business for the club.

"He's very content here and has been outstanding this season." Hanlon said: "I am delighted to have extended my stay at the club. "Everyone knows I grew up a Hibs fan - playing for your boyhood heroes is what every kid dreams about and I am very happy that I'll get to do that for another few years. maxbet

"The club is in a great position at the moment - we've had a strong first season back in the Premiership and things are looking good on and off the park. "I'm really enjoying my football at the moment and hopefully we can continue to progress in the coming years." maxbet

Salah to start, Joe Gomez back in the team: Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool line-up to face Stoke
sbo666 Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Stoke City At Anfield
Jurgen Klopp’s juggernaut steamrolled AS Roma at Anfield on Tuesday night as they were once 5-0 up in the Champions League semi-final first leg tie only to finish the game at 5-2. Liverpool, meanwhile, have a crucial weekend fixture in the Premier League against relegation battlers Stoke City and a win is required to seal a top-four berth and ensure a place in next season’s Champions League irrespective of what lies ahead this term.

Probable Liverpool XI
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
Formation: 4-3-3
Loris Karius (GK)
The new Liverpool No.1 has delivered some strong performances between the sticks of late but should have done better last weekend to deal with Salomon Rondon’s late equaliser. The German custodian will start the game on Saturday afternoon and must keep his concentration to clinch a clean sheet that he missed out last time.

Joe Gomez (RB)
Was at fault in the closing minutes and allowed the Baggies to stage a comeback at the Hawthorns. Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to be rested ahead of the crucial away encounter against Roma. Nathaniel Clyne is back in contention too, to start the Stoke City game. It is to be seen who Klopp prefers but the young English international must be more composed if handed a start in the right-back role.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)
The Dutchman has been rock solid since joining the club in January and will be crucial against Stoke City, especially to deal with 6ft 7in Peter Crouch, who will be a menace inside the box. sbo666

Ragnar Klavan (CB)
The Croatian was decent against Roma and might be rested on Saturday. Ragnar Klavan has been used sporadically and might be recalled to action.

Andrew Robertson (LB)
Has been thoroughly consistent all season since replacing Alberto Moreno, both at the back as well as going forward with overlapping runs and finding the attackers via his trademark crosses into the opponent’s box.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)
The skipper led his side sensationally during the semifinal first leg tie and the lack of enough cover in the middle of the park might see the English international start against the Potters.

James Milner (RCM)
Has been a revelation for Liverpool who is working his socks off all over the pitch. Was unlucky to concede a late penalty against AS Roma but performed incredibly well throughout the game.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)
Came on in place of the injured Oxlade-Chamberlain and delivered a towering performance in the midfield. He will be handed a start at Anfield on Saturday and the Dutchman will look to replicate his recent form for the remainder of the season.

Mohamed Salah (RW)
Netted two world-class goals against his former employers on Tuesday night and is on the verge of being the highest scorer in a 38-game top-flight campaign in English football. He is currently on 31 Premier League goals and the occasion against Stoke City will offer him the chance to set a record.

Sadio Mane (LW)
He has been wasting opportunities but has been scoring goals and providing assists quite frequently. Needs to be more clinical in front of goal but the Senegalese sensation is likely to trouble the Stoke City backline with his pace, runs and power on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino (ST)
The Brazilian has become the ‘system’ of Klopp’s Liverpool as he scores goals, creates moves and tracks back to win possession throughout the game. Will be determined to extend his goals tally by scoring against Stoke City. sbo666
